2001 Yamaha Grizzly 600 not running. Backfires and turns off
So I just bought a 2001 grizzly 600 for $800. I bought it knowing it wouldn t start. I have not adjusted anything and when I try to start it, it turns over and it shows signs of life and it turns on when I pump the gas but it only turn on if I give it gas. Even then it doesn't rev up, it just bogs up and down then eventually turns off. Right before it turns off it back fires and the carb pops off the sleeve. Is this an adjustment I have to do with the carb? I don't have an air filter on it right now. Could that be a problem? Please help.
Ignore: Yamaha, Honda, Carburetor, Grizzly, 600, 660
The "adjustment" is called carburetor disassembly and cleaning, and a tuneup, dude. Get a shop manual for the carburetor setup.
- Which bike would be a good first sport bike. Looking at CBR1000/600's and also the yamaha R1/R6? I don't know much about the differences, I know some people are all for Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, of Kawasaki. Seems that whatever bike someone has, they say its the best. I wish I could just ride all of them and see for myself. Tampa, FL Sam
- How much does the engine itself of each of these bikes weigh? Yamaha YZF R6 Suzuki GSX 600 Honda CBR600RR? They are all ~600cc. Kgs would be preferable but its easy enough to convert the weights. I can't find their engine weights anywhere.
- Honda hornet 600 2005 or cbr 600 f4i 2003? - 1 It's my first bike. I like the street naked bike style and i know it's easier to drive but i don't know if i should choose the hornet electric carburetor over the f4i fuel injection system
- After replacing our car battery, our remote starter just turns and turns without actually starting the car? My wife has a 2010 Honda Fit and we just had to replace the battery. We got a remote starter installed from Best Buy in either 2010 or 2011. But after the recent battery replacement, the remote starter responds by just cranking and not starting. It does like three sets of cranking before stopping. I don't remember the brand of remote starter, but anyone have any insight of what I need to do?
