1990 Honda accord won't go in to gear?
I have a 1990 honda accord 2 door that don't go in to gear. The car go in to gear for like a minute then it just rav & rav like its in neutral. I check the shift control solenoid and the lock solenoid and they where all good. I also swap my TCU with a 1991 honda accord TCU and still same problem. My old TCU had some burnt resistor on them.
Internal transmission problem. It needs a rebuilt transmission. Find local shop at ATRA.COM to confirm. Everything you changed has nothing to do with the movement of the car
Hi so after over 20 years this gear box is naffed so time to either get a new one or scrap the car.
You'll need to check the line pressure of the transmission. I've included the diagram of the port that you can hook up the trans pressure gauge to check the line pressure as follow:
Set the parking brake, chock both rear wheel, run the engine at 2000 Rpm (At least) and check the gauge reading. The trans is in P or N position, reading should be 110-117 Psi if low reading or no reading: It could be the torque converter, the oil pump pressure regulator, the oil pump itself has worn out or the torque converter check valve. Other than that then the transmission need to be rebuild due to clutches has failed.
- Is the 1985 Honda CR 500 water pump gear shaft compatible with the 86-2001 Honda CR 500 water pump gear shaft? I have a 1985 CR 500 and the water pump gear shaft broke. It has been discontinued from Honda, and no one else has it. It is a metal gear. The one's for the 1986-2001 CR 500 are plastic. If I have to use plastic, I will. However, I prefer not to. If anyone knows where I can get the OEM 1985 Honda CR 500 gear shaft, I would forever be grateful.
- 97 Honda Civic, new clutch and pressure plate but won't come out of gear and clutch pedal won't release? The clutch feels backwards now, won't switch gears unless the car is off and the pedal is all the way up. When you start it in gear it will not come out of said gear unless you turn the car off. The clutch pedal will get stuck down and the car will roll in whatever gear you put it in, when putting the clutch pedal down is supposed to release the clutch… It does not
- 3rd gear grinds? Replace gear box? 3rd gear grinds? So I bought this '98 honda civic cx(213,000miles) and sometimes the 3rd gear grinds a bit. What would be the cause of it? Clutch slipping? Also the steering wheel shakes when I broke after a certain speed(warped rotors or possibly wheel alignment is needed?) And lastly when downshifting 5th to 4th gear I have to shift slow or else it grids. What could be the problems in your opinion and how much would each cost
- 2002 honda accord 4 cylinder automatic won't go into gear? I left it in D4 last night on accident and didn't put it in park. It will turn over and turn on but won't go into gear its like its stuck in neutral. It will go into the different gears but it won't go anywhere out of my driveway. Any advice? Where to start? I put some bars stop slip in it but it didn't help.Haven't had any problems prior to this.
