1991 honda accord won't start?
Ok i just recently found out when i did a tune up on my vehicle about spark plugs having a firing order. I had previously taken the vehicle to a mechanic due to the car having idling issues. The entire air intake system was replaced and cleaned very well before replacing. After bringing it back seemed the problem went away.
The car was sounding like a small misfire so i went ahead and replaced the spark plug wires as they were lookin old. I also did the spark plugs as well.
When i put the newer spark plug wires in the car sounded funny so i went ahead and turned it off. This morning i went outside and using a diagram put the spark plug wires in the proper firing order. The car cranks strong but it won't start.
What should i do at this point the car cranked up yesterday.
Also i noticed the check engine light flashes when trying to start the car up and i read that could be a misfiring issue. I'm sure i have the wires in correctly and checked multiple times.
It ran but sounded funny, then you changed the firing order and now it won't run. Put the wires back where it sounded funny.
Probably easier and cheaper to just have a mechanic fix it for you. The plug wires are on wrong and you may have damaged a spark plug when installing them. Learning to do this correctly on your car may damage it further so just get it done again.
Take the plugs out and then just pulse the starter,
your only trying to get the engine to turn a little,
and feel down the #1 plug hole until you feel a little blast of air coming out the hole,
this is top dead centre and firing point for that cylinder,
now look inside the dizzy at the rotor arm,
where it's pointing to in the inside of the cap is number #1 segment,
that lead wire goes to cylinder #1.
firing order for those is 1342 turning anticlock so the next one round is cylinder #3 then #4 then #2.
Really not that hard to do,
or for that matter get it wrong.
- My 1983 Honda nighthawk 650 won't start with the electric start? I recently replaced the ignition coils because the old ones were getting heat soaked and the bike would die, however now the bike won't start with the electric start it turns over fin and the starter sounds fine but it won't start occasionally it ll start when it's cold or try to but I've been having to bump start it in order to ride it. So what's making it do this? Could it be the kill switch? Or something else?
- I have a Honda HRX217 push mower. Backfired when trying to start it, now it won't start? It was running, then I shut it off to open and close a gate, and when I went to start it again there was a really loud backfire and now it won't start. It will sound like it's almost about to start but not. Then get progressively weaker each pull. I changed the spark plug and cleaned the air filter. Any ideas?
- I have a Honda Harmony HRB215 K4 SDA that won't pull start but if I take off the recoil and drill start it, it runs perfect? I have a Honda Harmony HRB215 K4 SDA that won't pull start but if I take off the recoil and drill start it, it runs perfect. I did a compressin test, the pull start only gets the mower to 60psi but the drill gets the mower to 150psi. This mower does have a decompression vale where the ehaust opest about 1/8 of the way. I tore the ead off and checked and cleaned the valves. They don't stick open. Could there be an issue with the decompression valve? Or would it be the piston rings?
- How come my atv won't electric start but will crank if I push start it? 2006 Honda trx. Doesn't have a pull rope only electric start. The starter motor turns over the engine but just won't start but I'll push it down the yard with it in gear and it will fire right up. I'm so confused by this.
