1999 Honda Accord - 2 problems

The first issue is that the left brake light will not work and the Brake light indicator is on. The right works fine, the hazards & turn signals work fine. All the bulbs have been changed. Any clues?

Second issue… Car drives great. Took it on a trip & drove about 300 miles at about 80 mph. All of a sudden, I hit a construction area where I slow to a stop and the car dies. Start it again, move a little, it dies again. This continues for about 30 minutes. Took it to the dealership when I arrived at my destination, they couldn't find anything wrong or mimic the problem. Took it in to have it smogged where they run it at high rpms and when they finished, it did the same thing. Kept dying. Yet I can take it on the freeway for 10 or 15 mile trips and no problems at all. Please, please any suggestions?

If you've got a coupe, the wiring diagram for the 99 Accord shows that there are 2 brake light bulbs(1 inner 1 outer)If its not a coupe, it only has 1 brake light bulb on the driver side. If its a couple, make sure you check both bulbs. It also shows that the Accord has a brake failure sensor which is powered by fuse number 9 which is a 7.5amp fuse, so locate this fuse and check it to make sure its not blown. The safety indicater(brake light on dash)brake light bulbs, brake light switch, and 3rd brake light(high mounted brake light)are all connected to the brake failure sensor. I have also seen a case in which worn front brake pads caused the dash brake light to come on.It sounds like a intermittent fault possibly related to a sensor or ignition component that's getting heat soaked from engine heat. The first thing I would do is remove the ignition module and have it tested at Autozone. They test it on a machine that runs numerous cycles through it which heats the module up to activate anyproblems
