2001 Honda Accord LX 3.0L V6 problem?

My maintenance required light came on for exactly 10 seconds when I started the car in the morning then went away for a few days. Then last night, it came back on but only when I first start the engine and it flashes 10 times then go's away until the next time I start the car. It never did this until a few days ago.

I bought the car June 21st. I had a Mechanic (sears) go through everything and do a compression test on the pistons before I bought it for $2588 with 197440 miles on it. They said everything was good and the compression was a minimum of 135 psi. I'm guessing they checked all 6 pistons.

I looked at the oil dip stick and there's no fill line, but on 1 side it was up to the second hole and on the other it was a little higher. I just parked the car and turned the engine off right before pulling it out wiping it off then checking it again.

Anyone have any idea what the problem is.

There's nothing wrong and you can read all about that in the owners manual.

Like J J said, its telling you its time for a specific maintenance. Go visit your local Honda dealership

A lot of the imports do have that light to let you know that its time for a maint. Some of those vary from simple oil changes to timing belt replacement & other larger repairs. Some of those companies instead of waiting for stuff to break, would rather you replace it at mileage intervals

Visiting your dealership will let you know what but since you went to a Sears mechanic, he would have no clue on Honda nor access to know which one working at Sears. That place is like Walmart
