Am i paying too much for insurance?

I have geico policy with 251 a month. I drive a 2010 honda accord coupe and its financed. Its red color. No tickets or accidents and i'm 19. I got my liscence when i was 16. Isn't it too much most people pay less than a hundred a month

No. If anything, you are paying too little. In many places, a person your age can't get insurance that cheap. The price of insurance is based on your age and where you live. Obviously, if you're paying that little at your age, then you must live in a place where insurance costs less than in places where a person your age would have to pay $1000 a month or more. But you still have to pay more, many times more, than an older person would pay. Insurance for a person under 20 typically costs more than three times as much as it does for a person over 25 in the same place, so if you are paying only $251 a month, then you're right that most drivers where you live pay less than a hundred, because most drivers pay less than 1/3 of what drivers under 20 years old pay.

Most people are not 19 years old and drive what is considered a sports car. However, you might want to shop around - you might be able to save a few hundred dollars.

That's not bad at all. You probly pay more because the car is a 2 door, not a 4 door car. And, because you are young. Call and ask how to get extra discounts like multi-car, multi-line, good student, good driver, ect. And any other discounts they offer.

  • Are me and my family paying too much for auto insurance? Our total every 6 months is $2,055. I'm 20 years old and drive a 2015 Silverado LTZ V8 crew cab truck and my mom drives a honda pilot 2015. We're paying about $343 a month on car insurance is that too high for a 20 year old and a 46 year old?
  • Paying for Honda Loaner Car From Dealership while Paint Recall is Being Fixed? I'm going to be paying $33/day for (1 to 2 weeks) for a loaner car from my honda dealership while its away in the shop. Is there any flexibility in picking what car I want or do they automatically assign me a car. I feel like since i'm paying i should be able to pick what car I want, or even pay a little more for something nicer?
  • Motorbike insurance at £2000 - too high? I just bought a Honda CG 2002 124cc bike. I have a CBT. I have no NCB and have not driven a car or bike before (but have had a provisional license for 5 years). I live in London. The bike will be kept in a driveway and used for commuting to work. Given all of this, the lowest insurance quote I'm getting is £1780 p/a on any of the major comparison websites. This seems very high or is it about right?
  • Car insurance compared to small truck insurance? I have a Honda Fit right now, but am interested in buying a new small four-wheel drive truck. How do insurance rates generally compare (in Ontario) between a subcompact car and a small truck?
