Can bad tinting job cause rattling noise of rear windshield?

I recently purchased honda accord ex-l V6 in a dealershop. The car was ok for a week. And one wk later, I took it to dealer to have tinting on. They did only rear half saying it's illegal to tint on front (I live in CA). I didn't notice any issue on my way back home from dealer after tinting was done. But one day after, I started hearing this annoying rattling/vibration(sounds almost like popcorn popping in microwave) sound from rear unless I'm driving on perfect paved road. It sounds like it comes from rear windshield which seems impossible. I took it back for check up, and I'm wondering what caused it.

Can bad tinting job cause it? When doing tinting, do mechanics remove windshield? If so, I'm guessing when they put it back, they didn't do it right and now it's kind of loose making this sound. Is it fixable?

They don't remove the glass.

Is it a fixed rear windshield or one which goes up and down like the side windows?

If fixed then the tinting film is applied without removing the glass. If it's the other type then the glass often needs to be removed to apply the tint or at the very least the door card needs to be removed. Either method can lead to what you have described.

Hmm… Never heard of that but it is possible I suppose. I'm totally speculating here but it seems they could've been overly-aggressive with the cleaning which caused the window to loosen; also it is possible they had to remove the rear-deck (where the speakers are installed) and they put it back in wrong and it is vibrating. I advise you to go driving with someone in the back seat and when you hear the noise have them press on the window, press on the rear deck, etc. So that way you can figure out exactly where the noise is coming from, and then go from there.

Sounds like something is loose, but i'm sure it is not the window.
