Can't change air mode in my car?
I have a 97 Honda Accord special edition my heat and air both worked perfectly fine but I can't change in which the way the air flows into my car it is stuck on shooting at my face and I do not know how to fix or what is wrong with it. An answer As soon as possible would be great because it's a pain in the but without being able to use the defrost
There are three doors with actuators in your Accord's heating/cooling system. The fresh/recirculate door lets fresh air in or not. The blend door regulates the temperature. The mode door regulates where the air is directed, and that's what's bad with your car. Most likely the actuator is bad, but the door could be broke or the control on the dashboard might be the issue.
Not sure if you have vacuum or electric motor operated vent actuators. Get under the dash and look to see if you have vacuum hoses or wires running to the actuators on the heater box. If they are hoses trace all of the hoses to see if one is cracked or pulled off. Also I'd check the intake manifold hoses. That's where the vacuum would be coming from to operate the system. If the actuators are electric do pin tests.
- Prius: Can someone explain the power usage meter & specific difference between power mode and Eco mode? My brother just got me a Prius to replace my old beater Honda and I'm having difficulty understanding the power usage meter (meter on dash with "Charge-Eco-Power") and the difference in the Eco & Power modes. I do understand the charge bit on the meter.
- I have a 2015 Honda rancher that had a crack in the air box. It got so much dirt through the air filter it got into my piston. So it now Burns oil and I was wonder will it ever stop smoking. I know I have to rebuild the engin so don't even say it. And how long will it take before it losses power.
