Car making squeaky noise like old mattress?
I have a 2003 Honda accord and I hear a squeaking noise coming from the front but I'm not really sure. You really can't hear it driving straight down the road but you can hear it well when I slow down and hit bumps or even when I'm coming to a full stop. It's a kinda squeaky noise, like an old bed spring mattress sound. When it rains and when there's moisture outside, the noise disappears until it dries back out.
Any idea what it might be?
Bushings. Rubber ones. They're worn and need replacement. Also need some silicone lubricant. You might buy a spray and spray the control arm bushings and the anti-sway bar bushings. Anything that has rubber bushings and the noise should pretty much go away.
Hope this helps.
Could be the bushings. Or the strut boots and seals. Spray might help.
Dittos to what others said… And will add: when Hondas first became popular in the US, they recommended replacing the struts every 20,000 miles (!). I'm sure they last longer than that now… BUT…
From the limited maintenance info I keep at home, for a 2003 Accord Honda requires that the following (among many other items) be done every 20,000 miles: inspect tie rod ends and steering box boots; check drive shaft boots, inspect all suspension components. Many of these maintenance items could account for the noises you mention has the service been done every 20,000 miles on your car?
Could be what toney and grendleandkleev said or it could be a wheel bearing
- What is the squeaky noise on my 2009 honda rebel CMX 250 when I start the first time (it then goes away). What could this be? I have a Honda Rebel CMX 250 and it makes a weird horn / belt slipping like noice only in the morning when the first try to start the engine. What could this be?
- Can I tie a queen mattress down on top of my car? This maybe a stupid question, but it's for the sake of not paying my fiancés step dad to haul a queen size mattress in a gas guzzling truck, but I own a 2004 Honda Crv and if it helps with any laws I live in Arizona. I want haul a queen size on top of my car. I have no rails on my car also. First of all is it legal for me to haul that size mattress on my car and if it is how would I tie it down? Thanks for any help. Just wanting to make my our move simple.
- My car won't move in any gear under its own power but rolls in park while making a grinding noise I drive a 08 Honda Civic LX automatic. Yesterday I tried to take off from a stop and heard a loud metal snapping sound followed by loud grinding. Then it wouldn t move under its own power in any gear even reverse. It starts just fine, even idles as if nothing s wrong, will rev too. I have to have the emergency brake on because it rolls in park. In park it also makes grinding noises.
- My car suddenly making lawn mower noise? I drive my car everyday, at least an hour, maybe accelerate more than I should. I was driving and then stopped, had my car sit in one place for a few minutes turned it off then turned my car on a little bit after and now when you accelerate it sounds like a lawn mower or small semi, even at 20 mph. It seems to be coming from the left side of the motor around where you can check the oil. I have a 2006 Honda Civic.
