Car won't start after I changed spark plug wires?
Ok I have a 98 honda accord and I changed the spark plugs wires on it cause my spark plugs boots got stuck in there and it took me time to take it out I had to spray WD40 which helped a lot but after I cleaned them I and put the wires I tried starting it it couldn't start but it cranks so I thought I put the wires wrong and I changed them too then it still the same but better crank sound and then I changed the spark plugs with.044 gap and still not firing any help? And yea I gotten a distributor from the junkyard and like it worked like I drove on it and now it's just not firing I tried that starter fluid thing and still nothing I'm crying please somebody tell me what to do next it was running fine before I changed the wires.
You need to stop panicking and go back to basics.
Check that you're actually getting a spark from the coil, and check that the spark timing appears to be ok.
Check the rotor arm, make sure the distributor is dry inside.
Make sure the wires are making electrical contact with the inside of the distributor cap, and make sure they're going to the correct plugs by using a wiring diagram or a photo. It's very easy to get them mixed up.
Look in the manual book, or on the internet for the order of your spark plug wires.
They might have number indicators show on the distributor. For example. Wire #1 go to cylinder 1, wire #2 go to cylinder 2, wire #3 go to cylinder 3 and wire #4 go to cylinder 4.
Cylinder 1 is the first cylinder you see from the front of the car, then goes cylinder 2, cylinder 3, and cylinder 4.
Front of the engine is where the drive belt and the timing belt are.
Rear of the engine is where the transmission.
Have you checked each wire for spark? Are you positive you put them where they belong?
Did you check the firing order?
@Unknown: Your Avatar said it all: Now first, let start with the information about the car:
1998 Honda Accord. That's all you have provided. What's the trim level? I.e: EX, LX, DX. Except the trim DX has the 2.3L. The rest either has 2.3L (4 cylinders) or 3.0L (V6). So that would be my next question: Which engine does the Accord has?
Second: Give me the need to know information about the Accord and I'll show and give you enough information, procedures to make the car run. Be best give me your E mail address so I can send larger files including pictures and videos to you.
Third: My last question: Do you have enough basic hand tools, a timing light and a DVOM (Digital Volt Ohm Meter) and know how to use them? If you don't then buy them from your local auto part store. HTH

- Why won't my car won't start after putting in gas? I have a 2007 civic, 80,000 miles, about a year old battery. Yesterday after I filled up the gas tank my car wouldn't start. Waited about 1 minute and it started fine. This had happened about 4 months ago (I had it checked at Honda) and they said it was okay. But today I went a short distance (15 minutes from home left the car for about 5) and my car didn't want to start. What could it be?

- I felt dizzy and difficulty concentrating after driving my new car for two hours. Could excessive electrical wires be causing this? I felt these symptoms about three times directly after driving my 2000 Honda Civic. The car has about 10 or so electrical wires running above the driver's window and along the headliner for the two dome lights, sun roof, and rear speakers. These wires are very close to my head. I never felt this in my old car which only had one wire running above the driver's window. Does this sound unusual? Thank you very much!
