Honda accord 2014 ex-l with navi?

My brother just got a new car (described above). He loves it but he did not get one feature remote start. I was wondering if I/he went out to the car and turned it on bit then brought the key with us would we be able to lock the car and keep it on or are there any features to keep people from stealing it?

Yes you can go out and start the car and then take the key back in the house with you. This car has push button start and when you shut the door after starting the car you will hear a series of loud beeps warning you that the key is not in the car. Ignore the beeps and the car will continue to run even when the key is taken into the house. However you can't lock the car with the engine running and the key not in the car. The car must be left unlocked. I know because I own a 2014 Accord EX-L myself and I have tried this.

Yes, you can start it and leave it locked. You have to install a remote starter aftermarket though.

First off it is a waste of gas to "warm" the car up, silly idea. You could not take the key with you, you would have to leave it in the run position in order to have the car run but you could take the spare key to unlock the door.
