Honda Accord first car good buy?
I just bought a 2004 Honda Accord with 200k miles for $1800 is this a good buy? A lot of my friends were saying my car is about to die. Plus it's a 3.0 vtech v6 engine
200k is a lot of miles, but if the rest of the car is in reasonable condition then it could be OK because it's a Honda. Every worn tire, paint ding, sagging seat, light not working, seatbelt frayed, door / hood / trunk lid that doesn't shut properly, CV axle boot split, should be checked-for and repaired or replaced soon, to maintain or improve on the car's current condition.
That depends on how well it was maintained. Suspension gets a bit loose over time and the transmissions were known to have some troubles, but mine is still chugging along.
For $1800 that's a fair price. Was it a good buy? That completely depends on how well and fully the Honda has been serviced and maintained the last 13 years. If it has it could easily last another 100k miles.
Did you get it checked out by a mechanic before you purchased? If not, you have very little way of knowing how long the car is going to last or whether it'll die tomorrow.
