How long can i go before oil change?
Before I use to change my oil every 4k miles using regular oil. However now i move to fully synthetic oil by mobile 1 5w-20 for my 05 honda accord 140k miles how many miles can i go before the next oil change? People is saying 7-10k mile easy i'm almost up to 7500 miles and it worries me because i'm so use to changing it ever 4k.
I go 10-12K on a synthetic change. You could always pull the dipstick, touch the oil and see if it seems really dirty and/or still has viscosity. 4K was too often, anyway, with newer conventional oil.
Yeah, as richard says, no need to worry. Check out this article.
In Europe we go at least 12,000miles inbetween… And unless you live in the arctic get at the very least 30 grade oil… Yours is like water… Most common grades here are 10-30 and 10-40…
No one EVER had problems as a result of changing the oil too often. MANY people have problems because they ASSUME synthetic oil will last longer in their vehicle than conventional. If in doubt, error on the side of caution.
I prefer every 5,000 miles due to the fact oil filters are not made to go much longer than that before they get dirty. Look at the color of the oil on the dipstick. If it's black instead of clear/caramel colored you're going too long between changes.
I go 5000 eith regular oil, 10,000 with synthetic.
- 2004 Honda Pilot! I did an oil change today check the manual for the engine oil capacity, it is 4.8 liters and put 4.4 liters and add .5 ltr? Total engine oil put is 4.9 liters and I'm surprised the dipstick is above the second hole by 10mm. Is it overfill or do i need to remove some?

- How long before my bike overheats? I plan on going on a 120 Mile trip tomorrow on a Honda CB300F. It's not the biggest or fastest bike, but it's my first and I was wondering if the bike could possibly over heat or get damaged at all by me staying at about a solid 70 MPH.
