How much it cost to replace power steering belt?
I have a 95 honda accord v6. My power steering belt, alternator belt, and ac belt came off while I was driving. Was wondering the cost to put the belts back on or replace them? Also how much it usually cost to replace my harmonic balancer?
You need to ask a couple shops in your area, they are the ones doing the work.
Did your balancer come off? They are on there very tight.
The belt is $12 for master pro and $20 for gates and it is very simple to put on so there not much labour involved there, and could not find harmonic balancer listed at auto parts store but on eBay they start out at $32 and way up and take a special tool to pull off maybe a half hour labour and auto parts store may have the tool to lend.
- How much does it cost to replace the timing belt on a 2004 Honda Element? I'm looking to buy my first car and I'm looking at a Used Honda Element. The only thing I'm concerned about it that the car has a lot of miles (200,000) and the timing belt hasn't been replaced. Generally, how much would that cost?
- Does power steering fluid get hot if the car is just running and the steering isn't being used? If the pump is just spinning, recirculating fluid and nothing else… Would it still get hot? I had to bypass the pump from the rack and have the fluid recirculate. Would the pump get hot from just spinning? I know 8th gen Honda's don't have a cooler for the power steering anyways.
- Power steering fluid leaking from the base of the steering column? I have a 2002 Honda Civic and I noticed that there's power steering fluid leaking at the base of the steering column. I can't find anything about it online and don't want to take it to a mechanic if its something that I can figure out. Could this be the rack and pinion? Or is it just something simple? Anybody dealt with this issue before?
