How often do stereos get stolen?
I just bought this new stereo for my 2000 Honda Accord SE and installed by a Alpine authorized dealer. My car has Honda dealer factory installed security along with its keyless entry remote. The stereo is a Alpine CDE-143BT. I dislike having to remove the faceplate and putting it back on before I leave my car or getting in. So, I wanted to know, what would you do? I think people don't steal stereos anymore like the 90's. I see cars all the time with their nice new stereo in their cars when I walk by. What's the likely probability that someone what's to go the entire hassle of stealing my stereo from my car?
That completely depends on your neighborhood and where you go. Nobody here can answer that.
Not often.

If you're security system is good, people deter from stealing or breaking in. Keep it where there's a lot of people around ect.
I would not buy a removable face stereo to start with. I have in fact removes after market ones as they area pain when you are out shopping. I always replace with coded ones. OEM or After Market. In fact I'm about to replace my coded After Market one and fit an original coded one.

I very commonly install new stereos to replace stolen ones.
Pretty often if there are thieves and robbers in your area.
Stealing the stereo is unwanted I believe.
Its still quite common so either take the faceplate off or invest in a good alarm

- How many years will a new car last before it breaks down often? If you buy a brand new car and keep up with maintenance, how many years can you expect to get before it begins breaking down often, requiring frequent and/or expensive repairs? 5, 10, 15, 20? I know this can vary depending on the model, but let's assume a Honda or equivalent Japanese car.
