How to use AUX/play music from an external device from the CD/AUX button on my 2005 Honda Accord LX?
I have a 2005 Honda Accord LX. On the radio head there's a button: CD/AUX. I'm assuming the AUX is for playing music from another device (phone, mp3 player, etc.) through the car's audio. I just wanted to know how I could go about doing this. I wanted to play music from my Galaxy S3 if this helps.
You may only have the button, but not the actual aux port (jack). Look for the Aux port, if you have it, then connect your phone there, then press the Aux button to play the music from the phone.
The Aux button may only mean that your radio can accept an aux input port, it is not necessarily equipped.
You can use that button to play mp3 files from a CD. Also, there's an optional audio jack that you may have, or you could install. It plugs into the back of the stereo and mounts on the dash somewhere. The installation is a bit of work. An easier solution is to buy an FM transmitter to link phone to car. They even have them with bluetooth to the phone, which is nice.
There's more than likely, a socket on the back of the stock unit for an input jack to be plugged into. Check Crutchfields or visit a local audio shop for their opinion.
Ask a Honda trained specialist at a Honda dealership how to use your stock stereo.
- Where is the aux cord input at in my 2005 Honda odyssey? Just recently Purchased the Van, I see an aux audio button on the navi screen but don't see the input for the aux. Looking everywhere can't find it. Any help?
- How to use my android phone for music in my car? I have a 2007 honda odyssey. The only input I can find in there's the cigarette light input. Does anyone know how I can connect my phone music to the car stereo? I'm guessing there's some sort of adapter or cord I can buy but I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for.
- 2006 Honda Odyssey aux/xm button not working? Hi, I have a 2006 Odyssey. The aux/xm button has stopped doing anything, regardless of whether an iPod is plugged into the glove-box auxiliary port. When an iPod is plugged in, the iPod shows as charging, but depressing the aux/xm button doesn't load the iPod. The AM, FM, and CD buttons are all working fine.
- 2005 Honda Odyssey with a 6-disc CD changer, AM, FM, and Aux functions on the stereo. Need Bluetooth Adapter? I have a 2005 Honda Odyssey with a 6-disc CD changer, AM, FM, and Aux functions on the stereo. I need a bluetooth adapter to connect my phone/Mp3 player. All the adapters I have seen require a device to plug into the CD Changer port of the stereo, however I do not want to lose my CD player. Is there a device that will utilize the Aux function, that the only available port for is in the back of the van and therefore not used, to enable bluetooth to the stereo?
