I bought a 2000 Honda accord coupe vtec with problems?

I bought the car for 600 but with problems. It has 230,000 miles but the f23 vtec engine still sounds and runs good. It needs a new tranny which is a common problem with this car. I heard a h23 prelude tranny fits in it.It also needs a lot of body work. At least 800s worth. At the end of everything i would have most likely invested about 2,600. But I'm not sure if I should do all that. I wanted to buy a prelude shell and put the engine in it but that would be another 1,000 at least. What would be the best thing to do? I will take any suggestions. Should I be worried about the milage and just junk the car I can make my money back. I just don't want to put more than 3,000 into this project if it won't be worth it. I'm open to any suggestions, thanks!

Drive it, replace parts with parts from lower mileage wrecks.
then sell it to a dumb kid. Tell him its all rebuilt. Oh, first you put lights underneath and a big ol wing thing on the back.
Double your money!

Dude. Yes, you should be worried about the mileage. At 230,000 miles it's not enough to judge the engine by sound, you need a compression test on the cylinders, even an oil sample sent to Blackstone Labs would be a good idea.

I think your best bet is to part the car out and get as much cash out of it as you can.
