I have a Honda Accord 1998. Yes ik really old anyways OIL SPILL?
I got the oil change, the person who changed it didn't put back the cap or didn't put it on tight enough so the oil spilled all over my hood bumper engine and a lot of spots around the engine i didn't notice this and I have drove like over 1000 miles without a cap I guess and there was still oil left in the car I just went back there and they bought me a new cap and gave me a free oil change so I'm wondering did my car receive any damage from this because I still drive far places with it usually like over 50 miles a day
You drove a 100 miles without noticing anything, like the smell of burning oil?
They won't tell you but their fingers are crossed that your engine will stay together long enough to say it wasn't their fault.
My brother did that in his Volvo after checking his Oil level. It got hot enough to damage the seals in the Auto Transmission. Ended up having to get it swapped

- Oil Change: Honda Motor Oil Vs Generic oil, does it make a difference? I have been getting oil changes with Honda motor oil for 15 years on my 2002 civic that now has 132K miles. If I switch to a generic $10 oil change garage shop will it still be ok? I know the Honda filters are better then the cheapest generic ones but how about the actual motor oil?
- If I have an oil leak should I continue to use Synthetic oil? I have Honda civic 1997 lx sedan, I have an oil leak on the left side of the engine. By the distributer. My question is, is it worth using synthetic oil even though there's a leak? Or should I just use conventional oil because there's a leak?
