I'm looking for a good fuel efficient, sporty car?
I have a 2009 Honda accord coupe v6. I love the car but I'm wanting something that gets better gas mileage but still nice and sporty. What are some for me to look at?
You have a car you like it doesn't get the kind of mileage you want.
So you are going to spend $5000 to $10000 difference to get better mileage.
Gasoline is cheaper than it has been in 6 or 7 years
The money you spend to get another car will buy a lot of gas for the car you have.
If I were doing it I would keep the car I have and save my money.
The current 4 cylinder Accord coupe gets better gas mileage than your V6 '09 (6-7mpg better both city and highway) and it's still a lot of fun to drive for what it is. It won't be as fast as your current car but it's not slow by any means. And if you're interested, it's available with a 6spd manual and from all reviews the manual transmission is outstanding in terms of shift feel and operation, adding to the "fun" factor if you're into driving a manual.
Other cars to consider would be a Mazda 3 (great gas mileage, fun to drive, not as fast as your Accord but not dog slow either), the Mazda 6 (ditto), and possibly even the new Civic with the turbocharged 4 cylinder - it's actually almost as fast in a straight line as your V6 Accord and has gotten good initial reviews, though I don't believe the Civic is available with a manual if that matters to you. Both Mazdas are available with a manual (or auto) for what it's worth.
I'm sure there are others I'm missing but those are a few fun, affordable and efficient new cars to consider anyway.
Not too many better to choose from especially if you want higher fuel mileage and performance.
Frs brz meita ecoboost mustang civic si gti focus st all the basic sports crs. The frs can get up to 44 mpg on the highway
A 4 cyl Accord coupe
Camry Hybrid
You won't find cars that are significantly better on gas than the V6 Accord unless you go for a much smaller or hybrid car with a small 4-cylinder engine. Even the 4-cylinder Accord is not much better than the 6-cylinder. Look at the Honda Civic coupe.
- What are some good cars that either already have mods or are just sporty in general? Nothing above 5k? And yes i have look at all the sporty hondas and i like them, but i want a V6 casue their faster than V4s stock. but yeah like give me some websites or car names to look up on craigslist.
- Does the fuel tank size have any impact on fuel economy between vehicles? For example the new Honda Accords have a 56 Litre tank while the CRV has a 53 L and the Rogue a 55 L. Now the 2 latters are compact crossovers and are arguably bigger in size than the Accord, so would that mean they are using up more gas? Would that mean its better to buy the Accord if we were going based on just gas mileage?
- What is the best used sporty car under $9k? I'm looking at buying a car for $9k or less after the repair bills on my old car started to add up. I want something sporty (not actually a sports car since the insurance rate will skyrocket with this category), but also want to keep fuel economy and reliability in mind. The two models I have been looking at are a 2006-2008 Mazda3 and a 2006-2008 Honda Civic Si. Are there any other car models comparable to these that are both powerful/fun-to-drive and at least relatively low-cost to own?
- What car looks cool (semi-sporty, sleek) but not too expensive? This will be my first car I like the Honda Civic Is, but that only comes in manual transmission, and it is a little too sporty looking. Are there any sedans (I'm hesitant for a coupe, but if you know of one, please list it. *Honda Civic Si, not "Is". Also I think the rear of the SI is too sporty, not the body
