Is Mazda or Toyota more reliable?

My grandma would like either a midsize sedan or small SUV. If she decides on a midsize sedan, the best options seem to be the Mazda6 and Toyota Camry. Other good options seem to also include the Honda Accord and Nissan Altima. Anyways, which will be more reliable, the Mazda or the Toyota?

My research points to the Toyota but the margin is slim enough that if she can get the Mazda for a better price than the Toyota, she should buy the Mazda. I also shopped this market recently and found the different competitors physically "fit" me differently so I suggest "try on" each one and buy the one that fits the best.

I'd get the Mazda 6. Toyota has really lowered the bar when it first began cutting corners for the 97 model year onward and the Camry is one of the most affected models. The same goes for Honda and to a lesser extent Nissan.

I say both
Mazda has good ratings for last ability
But toyota is good!

Toyota fairs much better.

What are the most reliable cars on the road? The basic rule is: Buy Japanese. In the most recent survey of drivers' experiences by top US group consumerreports.org, Japanese manufacturers scooped the top SIX places in the list. And one manufacture was head and shoulders above the rest: Toyota Motor Corporation. Their three brands, Scion, Toyota and Lexus, took the top three top spots, and the Toyota Prius C took the overall award for the most reliable car in the world. Mazda, Subaru, Honda and Acura came next, before the first entry from a non-Japanese manufacturer - German firm Audi. In a list of the most reliable cars on the road in 2013 compiled by leading information firm JD Power and Associates, Japanese firms also dominated - and again Toyota took the most titles.

Toyota. My mom had her 1993 until 2009. It was in great running condition until she got married and let her husband use the car. He screwed it up in less than a year by not taking care of it. Basic things like an oil change, changing the spark plugs, checking fluids. Not once did he take the car to be service and he tore it up to the point it wouldn't start anymore.

As long as you take care of a Toyota, the Toyota will take care of you.

Toyota is the most reliable car for the eighth year in a row, according to Consumer Reports' annual ranking. The company's Toyota and Lexus models came in at the top of the list, which is based on a survey of subscribers. The respondents were asked to report any serious problems they had with their vehicles during the previous year that that they considered serious because of cost, failure, safety, or downtime.

  • Which brands of cars are more reliable and less expensive to maintain? I have been driving American cars, Honda, Toyota and they're easy to find parts when something go wrong. I would like to buy a Volkswagen beetle or a European car. Like 2004 or 2003 Volkswagen beetle. If something go wrong, does it cost more to fix it? Is maintenance more expensive than a Honda or a Toyota yaris. I know the Honda and Toyota last forever after a few hundred thousand miles and they re still in excellent running condition with regular services. What do you guys think?
  • Nissan vs Hyundai vs Toyota vs Honda vs Scion. Which one is more reliable and a better purchase? Nissan vs. Hyundai vs. Toyota vs. Honda vs. Scion… Which one is more reliable and a better purchase?
  • Mazda reliability? Particularly 2013 mazda 3? I'm in the market for a new car and I was looking between 2013 Toyota corolla which is just boring and doesn't have as much features compared to Honda, or mazda. The Mazda 3 is at a good price 1000 dollars cheaper then the Toyota. So my question is, is Mazda reliable for that generation, or should I stick with a very well known reliable car maker?
  • Is Toyota more reliable then Honda? I want to buy a much newer model (2014-2016) and i want to know from experience which one is gonna last longer?
