Jiffy lube put oil in master cylinder?
I took my 08 honda accord to jiffy lube for an oil change and 4 days later my break petal stated going to the floor, I thought it was my break pads so I took it to Firestone they said someone put oil or transmission fluid in my master cylinder over $1900 not including the ABS system next day I took car to Just Breaks they said someone put oil or something other that break fluid in master cylinder over $1500 not including ABS. Call my insurance to get rental car and investigation they find the same thing. Investigator calls manager at Jiffy Lube he said its possible that it could have happened here told me to fill out incident report call the store for the report the GM says it did not happen here cause we don't mess with peoples break fluid I told him I have my last two invoices and they both are from Jiffy Lube and no one else works on my car. I'm wondering if I have a chance in getting Jiffy Lube to own up
Guess you know why folks shouldn't let high school drop outs that work at Jiffy Lube touch your vehicle!
Sue them. As soon as they get a lawyers letter they'll pay up.
What do you expect if you go to Jiffy lube?
Get your car serviced by a proper mechanic who knows Hondas.
Now you have a legal fight to get your car sorted.
"IF" they put oil in your brake fluid"which is also a type of oil" you would have never even noticed. No fluid compresses.
You brake pedal is going to the floor because either a caliper is leaking or the master cylinder is leaking due to the fact they wear out. Not because there's a different oil in there. Heck, someone could pour Beer in there and water is a fluid and it does not compress.
You would have never have known the difference.
- 2004 Honda Pilot! I did an oil change today check the manual for the engine oil capacity, it is 4.8 liters and put 4.4 liters and add .5 ltr? Total engine oil put is 4.9 liters and I'm surprised the dipstick is above the second hole by 10mm. Is it overfill or do i need to remove some?
- Will I fail an inspection with a bad master cylinder cap? I'm in NY and I have a 2000 honda civic. The master cylinder cap has a level that when under level makes the brake light turn on. When I disconnect it the light goes back out. If I leave it disconnected. Will I fail inspection? Is there a way to take the cap apart and fix the level sensor?
- Oil Change: Honda Motor Oil Vs Generic oil, does it make a difference? I have been getting oil changes with Honda motor oil for 15 years on my 2002 civic that now has 132K miles. If I switch to a generic $10 oil change garage shop will it still be ok? I know the Honda filters are better then the cheapest generic ones but how about the actual motor oil?
- 4 cylinder vs 6 cylinder vs 8 cylinder vs 10 cylinder? Which is better to get? On small sized cars such as Honda Civic, Mitsubishi Lancer and Toyota Corolla you're stuck with 4 cylinder, since 6-cylinder is not available as the option What if I get v8 or v10 vehicles… Is there any problems?
