Looking to get into car restoration/tuning?
I'm a 15 year old boy looking to get into car tuning but I don't think my dad believes that I will actually take up this hobby. He has asked me to work on his car with him a couple of times with sway bars, and transmission, but I never really fully participated because I really wanted to be working on something that was mine (and not a 2001 Honda Accord). I'm into older cars, foreign models but they are way out of my price range, but recently I have been looking at 80s Camaro's with reasonable miles (40-60k). We have many tools required for working on cars and a three car garage so it is practical but I need help on how to bring up this subject with my dad. I already know my mom will disapprove because she wouldn't even let me get into dirt bikes, but my dad worked on cars with his dad when he was younger and I think I should bring it up with him since he would be the one helping me as well. Also are there any other cars like the camaros that are under 5k and would make a pretty sweet looking car for a high school student. I'm not into speed or anything I just love the look of muscle/tuner cars and the 86 camaro IROC-Z falls right in the middle of my interests.
If you are not helping your Dad, then you are missing out on gaining needed experience
Help your Dad out with the Accord. It's not like you can't use that knowledge towards another vehicle. Then earn the money you'll need for both a car and the many, many parts you'll probably end up having to get to maintain it. This isn't a cheap hobby.

- Looking into buying a used car. Which cars should I avoid and which cars should I pursue? I'm looking into the following Honda Civic years 2005-2010 Honda Fit years 2007-2010 Toyota Corolla years 2005-2010 Toyota Yaris years 2007-2010 Toyota Echo years 2005
- If I drop something into the engine bay, can I unscrew the bottom of the car to get it? I dropped something into the engine bay and can hear it landed onto the bottom. On the bottom of the car is a metal sheet. I can't squeeze under my car, but I can feel there are screws down there. Do you think I can unscrew one side of the metal sheet (the side closest to the front bumper), bend open the metal sheet slightly, and poke a stick into it to retrieve what I dropped? I have a 2017 Honda CR-V.
- Can stock car parts of a newer car go into an older car? Have a 2011 suzuki sx4 not driveable. Driving around a 99 honda crv. is it possible to put the deck of the suzuki (already removed) and place into the crv? The speakers are the same size i'm thinking about those as well but is that much of an upgrade?; I can't find the power of the stock speakers to both cars. Thank you, I had a system in suzuki i removed wanting to put in my crv.
- I'm 16, looking for what car I should get? I'm 16, and i'm saving up for a car, by the time i'm 18 i'm hoping to have enough for a car. Right now I'm really leaning towards a Honda Civic. I was wondering what year would I have to get for it to be under 6000 dollars, or if there are other cars I should look at.
