My 1998 Honda Accord has a check engine light. P1457?
My fuel tank is leaking so can that be the reason oris it the canister?
P1457 Evaporative Emissions Control System Leakage EVAP Canister System.
Possible Causes:
- Missing Fuel cap
- Incorrect fuel filler cap used
- Fuel filler cap remains open or fails to close
- Foreign matter caught in fuel filler cap
A leaking fuel tank would definitely cause this.
ALL thsi light tells you is that yoru AIR/FUE mxiture is going BAD and that your O2 sensors are REBELLING or that the CONVERTER is getting too HOT from thsi BAD AIR/FUEL MXITURE! The FIRST THING to do an ANY CAR is to have the IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE and THROTTLEY BODY cleaned up to SHOWROOM CLEAN! AL AIR getting into your engine is FINE TUNED by the IAC valve on All engines! A STICK one will NOT get the right amount of AIR into the engine and you will STALL of even log the converter or get CARBON on you O2 sensors quickest! GUMOUT and AMSOIL POWER FOAM rid the issue QUICKLY and COMPLETELY! Use the POWER FOAM through the PCV valve to clean eh RINGS and VALVE HEADS! Use ONLY MOBIL ONE or even DEXOS oil in whatever you are driving and STAY AWAY from CHEAP WAX REDUCTION OILS! VALVOLINE, e.g. Is NOT used by ANY FACTORY ANYWHERE ON EARTH as a FACTORY FILL OIL for GOOD REASONS! It returns to WAX and SLUDGE i came from! <<ANY AUTO ZONE can READ your trouble codes for FREE! START THERE! But keep your IAC fully showroom at All TIMES! It FINE TUNES the amount of AIR going into the engine! BYE NOW!
