Rattling noise near serpentine belt?

2005 Honda Accord ex-l 4cyl with 161,000 miles. I have been hearing a rattling noise coming from the belt area loudest in the front side of the engine. It seems to come on and off every 10 seconds. I replaced the belt tensioner as well as the serpentine belt. The alternator has 8,000 miles on it. I took it to the Honda dealer and their best guess is that it was the tensioner which i replaced today. The noise is still there. I included a video uploaded on youtube at the link below. The noise doesn't seem to be coming from the steering pump. Any ideas?

Take the belt off and turn each pulley by hand until you find the noisy one…

Remove the belt and check the harmonic balancer. When they separate they are noisy like that. Don't pass up what rick29148 said too.

Could be the timing gear, they seldom go much over 100,000 miles though.

Just had one that sounded like that and it was the alternator making the noise.

  • Scooter/moped dealer near Maryand, DC, Virginia? I'm buying a 50cc scooter so I can drive it with my license, not getting a motorcycle license. Are there any good scooter dealers around? I'm looking to get a fast retro style scooter. I'd really like to get the Aprilia Mojito 50. I can't get anything from honda, taotao, or anything else restricted to 30mph.
  • Rattling noise in 2002 honda civic ex? SHOCK ABSORBER REPLACED STRUT MOUNT REPLACED CONTROL ARM BUSHINGS REPLACED MOTOR MOUNTS ARE GOOD STABILIZER LINKS ARE OKAY Even the smallest bumps send my car it to a rattle snake it seems like. Metal on metal rattle for sure. Power rack seems intact. What could this be and where should I begin to look?
  • Honda replaced my serpentine belt but my car is now taking longer to crank? Honda recently replaced my serpentine belt (2012 Honda Civic, 185k miles). I noticed that on cold starts, the car takes longer to crank and then eventually starts. Sounds like it doesn't want to start but then does. I will take it to Honda but I'm just curious what this is likely caused by? Loose belt? Tight belt? Pulley issue? No noticeable squealing, just the crank time. Instead of the usual 1-3 seconds, now my car takes about 3-5.
