Should I buy this 1996 Honda Accord for $1,995 with 240,000 miles on it?
I don't know much about cars so I'm taking my uncle to the dealership so he can check it out since hes a mechanic an knows alot about cars
I would not buy anything with over 150,000 miles on it.
A 96 car from a dealer that has 240,000 miles on it? No way!
Sounds worn out…
My kind of dealership what else is on the lot? Maybe a 1980 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow II? Good value is a 90% fall in price like the Rolls Royce.
I'd offer them $500
How are the tires?
How are the brakes?
Did it have the timing belt and water pump replaced?
Any car, no matter what brand it is, that has 240,000 miles on the odometer will have lots of parts that are worn out or close to being worn out. Suspension, exhaust, steering parts will all be worn. It also must have the cam belt replaced every 110,000 miles and it is an interference engine. Unless you know positively that the belt has been replaced on time then you are looking at around $500 to have the belt and water pump replaced. A car with this many miles is a gamble unless most of these are highway miles. I personally would not touch it. But you can see and drive the car. Have it inspected by a trusted mechanic and then make the decisions based on what he says.
That is a good deal if it has a hundred pounds of gold stashed under the rear seat. Otherwise, it has been ten years since it was worth $1995.
NO. A Honda with 240,000 is maybe worth $600 to $800 at most, also being roughly 20 years old it can't last much longer. I'm a hardcore Honda fan, but even I sold my Integra when it reached 260,000, to many little things start to fail with that many miles.
- Would you purchase a 2004 Honda pilot for $6,000.000 that has 216,000 miles on it? I'm just browsing online looking at cars for sale and a lot of them have 200k or more miles on them and they want $4,000 or more. Why do people sale their cars for such a high price with a lot of miles on them? Its not just Hondas its all types of cars private and dealers as well
- 2008 Honda Fit with 66,000 miles on it for $5,000? Is this a good deal? I need to buy a new car and today I got an offer on a 2008 Honda Fit with 66,000 miles on it for $5,000. I'm a 19 year old girl and I know nothing about cars D: Are Honda Fits good cars? Should I buy this with so many miles already on it? Also, I like to travel. Will this car be safe to drive long distances?
- I have a 1998 Honda CRV with 240 K miles. Needs $1200 of repair to pass inspection. Should i fix or buy a newer used Honda civic? Mike? I'm the original owner and have done a good job with oil changes etc. However, it needs 2 front control arms with ball joints and rear struts to pass inspection. I've also gone past my mileage on a second timing belt (first one done at 90K miles). Car body exterior and interior is in pretty good shape. Inside looks brand new. But repair cost at 1200 + timing belt ~500 =~1700 in repars. Is it time for a newer used auto.
- Should I buy this 2008 Honda Civic LX for $5,299 (price is negotiable and it has 163,000 miles)? Per the owner, it's been well maintained (I will get an auto shop to inspect it to confirm that). I see a lot of honda civics for sale now, so I do not understand why so many are for sale since they are reliable. Should I buy this vehicle?
