Line from the transmission to the shifter got damaged! How do I fix it?

I was driving home on the freeway at night when all of a sudden a piece of rim in the middle of the highway went under my car and pull the cord that connects from my shifter to the Transmisson now my car won't go into reverse or neutral and the line is pulled to the point I can see the metal wires is it an easy fix?

You need to go to a transmission shop, this isn't a DIY project unless you are a mechanic.

Replacing the shift cable of your vehicle calls for 1.5 hours of labor time and involves removing your exhaust system. It is something that a do-it-yourselfer could definitely do if hey have the right tools. If you plan to tackle this job you will most likely need to raise the vehicle and support it with jack stands.
