What kind of car should I buy? - 1
So I'm looking to buy another car. I currently drive a '98 Honda Accord, I've had it for 2 years now without any major issues. But now with over 180k miles on it, my transmission is starting to slip. But besides that I'm looking for suggestions on what type of vehicle I should get. I want something no older than a 2009, good gas mileage and not too pricey. I'm buying a used car so how many miles would be the limit if I want this car to last 4-6 years? I'm also open to some small SUV's so any suggestion would help.
Your question is much to broad to give you a good answer. Pick up a copy of the April 2015 issue of Consumer Reports magazine (check your library) (or go to ComsumerReports.org) and they have a complete list of recommended used cars in a variety of categories and prices. They also tell you which used cars to avoid --- those that have had a history of reliability problems.

- What kind of car should I get? I'm looking at afew cars that i would like to have when i finish high school i'm a freshman. I had the idea of saving up some money so when i'm a softmore or something I can ditch my moms car and buy my own car. I'm thinking a 2005 s2000, Scion FR-S, Honda Civic (2015) or an 96 integra somewhere along thoes lines… I just need to know what yall think about these cars or car options you may have to give to me.
- What kind of car should I buy my college-age son? I was reading an article that the Honda Civic and Buick LeSabre would great for kids going to school. But I was talking to our neighbor and she bought her son an old BMW, like 2011, and her son didn't talk to her for weeks. I want my kid to have a good time at college and not be embarrassed, but the article said these two cars were really good for teenagers. I was kinda iffy when I read about the Honda and then they said the Buick, so this may be made up or something.
- Should i buy an oem honda part or is it worth the risk to buy aftermarket? I need a vehicle speed sensor for my 94 accord and i noticed aftermarket prices for this part are much cheaper but is it worth the risk or should I buy the "dorman" part?
