The CEL is part of the instrumentation cluster. So check the back of the fuse cover and it should have a diagram on it.
The CEL error can be reset by removing the car battery for a few minutes. But it will turn on again if the cause of the error was not resolved. The PCM constantly monitor any issues and will turn on the light once it detects any problems.
Check the owner's manual for layout of the fuses
Remove the 7.5 amp clock backup fuse and put back that should clear the check engine light.

- Honda CRV 2003-check engine light? My check engine light won't go off; it has only 40,000 miles on it (real mileage). I also bought a new gas cap--so that isn't it. Can't find my manual either. Oops, I mean the fuse box under the dashboard and under the engine cover. What fuse is it, and which box is it in? Unfortunately, the diagrams in the fuse boxes I have do not have text but obscure diagrams instead.
