Why don't my taillights work or license plate?

I have an 09' honda accord and when I turn on the headlights the red lights in the back won't turn on and also the license plate don't turn on.

Check the related fuse. Both tail lights and license plate lights are on the same circuit. There are fuse boxes under the dash/driver side as well as passenger side and under the hood.

Remove the lid cover and turn the lid over and you'll see the location of the fuses that need to be check and also replacing the burnt out bulb if any. I think the fuse is in the driver side under dash fuse box and only one for both tail and license plate lights. I'll look at it very shortly later.

Edit: The terminology Honda use is "Small light" instead of "Tail light" like if you look into the Driver side fuse box diagram (Page 377): Fuse # 27 (10A). It'll say: Left side small light (Exterior) so remember the terminology they use. HTH
