Why when I rev my engine in drive, it doesn't move?
Honda Accord 2008 sedan LX 2.4L 199k miles. I was accelerating pretty fast and I was reaching 5000 rpm when my car made a huge sound and shaked, I thought I hit something, then my engine made a huge sound so I turned off the car. I turned it back on, it started, when I put it in drive it made a loud sound for half a second, again I pressed the gas and it reved but didn't move. I put it in park and it makes a huge loud continuous sound, so I turned off the car. I put it in neutral to roll it. Then I put it in park and the car still rolls! Please don't tell me it's my transmission because I'm a senior in high school and that would be really bad.

You'll be in the 2 grand range to have a used one installed or close to 3 grand to have it rebuilt. Find local shop at ATRA.COM for more answers I'm afraid I have really bad news for you, but I can't tell you what it is because you asked us not to. That would be your transmission sounds like it needs a good rebuild NO one can say for sure what the problem is from your cryptic description- could just be a cv joint that blew and separated - either way doesn't matter what anyone here thinks it is - you need to find out WHAT the problem is from a qualified mechanic and go from there. Unfortunately you blew your transmission why are you reaching 5000rpms on a car with 200k on it? If you knew how to drive manual this wouldnt even be an issue. Well it is the transmission Play the sound for us. Oh, it couldn't be the transmission. NOT! It's the transmission. Sorry but that's what you have to deal with.

- Why is my clutch pedal staying on the floor and doesn't spring back up? I have a 92 Honda Prelude Si and I just changed the clutch on it. But now my clutch pedal has no pressure, I'll press the pedal and the pedal will stay down but won't spring back up at all. I already changed the Slave Cylinder. What's going on?
- Why is it that some husbands let their wives drive luxury cars while they drive ordinary cars? I've been observing some of my neighbors (one of them is a stay at home mom) and the husbands drive ordinary cars like Honda Accord or Honda Pilot. But the wives tend to drive luxury cars like Acura TSX or Acura RDX (some form of luxury car). What is the reason for this? Why do wives get to drive luxury cars while the husband drives ordinary car? I should say some of them. Its not a problem though but was only curious. The neighbors are Asians actually.
- Why does my honda odyssey rev up by itself in park? The "D" (drive) light flashes sometimes too, and I coded it and this came up "P1740"
- Why doesn't my honda civic speed needle work? So when I'm driving I can't tell what speed I'm going the needle works when it wants to. I replaced the speed sensor and it still doesn't work. Might I need a cluster?
