Americans why do you guys allow foreign franchise in your country?
Like Toyota, Sony, Toshiba, Kumon, Honda, Mercedes, BMW, Ferrari, Maserati, Yamaha, Kawasaki, etc. I understand that every company here in America from banks to retail from restaurants to department stores from cell phones to candy/chips/beverage/beer/water/cigarett… From brands to even gas stations everything is American. But there are some companies from outside that exist in the US mostly cars and certain electronic companies as I mentioned above. Don't Americans have any idea that these countries mostly Japanese and European are making money off of the US that's a bad thing. Why won't Americans discontinue foreign franchise if they care about their country so much. This is a question that I have been wanting to get answers from for so many years. Is America trying to be like Mexico where you guys want farmers to lose jobs and immigrate outside why aren't you guys doing anything to quit foreign franchise from invading your land?
Because we feel like it.
Because those companies you've mentioned are cars and electronics with Kumon being an educational center for little kids. It's because American cars aren't reliable since they have low mileage compared to Japanese and European therefore we rely on foreign investments on cars.Once American cars become good there will be no need for anymore foreign cars. American electronics such as Sony in the US is native to America which is not similar to the Japanese Sony company the American Sony headquarters are in New York according to Wikipedia it was formed in 1950. You are correct everything is American with the exception of cars that's the only business that still needs improvement and once it does so long to Toyota and every other foreign car companies. You're also wrong we don't want other countries to make profit off of their businesses but American cars are still terrible and it'll take time to improve itself to make good cars.
Those countries also use our products.
Without foreign companies and investment, the USA is f^cked.
Many foreign companies operate in the US because we allow it, understand that it is better than just buying their imported products. As well, loads of American made good from these companies are exported all over the world. That is why the USA is still the world's largest manufacturer of anything. It is working to our benefit, so isn't going to change.
They've become integral to our economy because, to be entirely honest, the costs incurred for for producing a product like a car in the US would be astronomical. Unions, of course, are harbingers excessive price tags and can kill a product before it is ever even talked about being built or attempted to market, while even without unions for a high dollar item like cars, there are high costs in both manpower and taxes that would make American produced vehicles unaffordable to the American public. That's why even American cars, like Ford and Chevrolet, are mostly manufactured outside the USA.
As for small electronics, America still has good quality products in that area. There's no good reason to not allow capitalism to work it's magic though. Letting Apple duke it out with Samsung is good for everybody. That's not an economic problem. That's an economic plus.
Sure. We do.
Every country with a franchise here reciprocates.
- Why do guys try to outrace me? Today I was trying to have a nice drive when a guy in a Cadillac gets on my bumper, then side by side with me, rubs his engine, takes off while staring at me going 75 mph? I've had this happen in mini vans, jaguars, camaros, hondas, everything and anything. I drive a Mustang, half the time they can outrace me anyway why should I care and why are they trying to prove something to me? I think it's mean.
- What do you guys think about the 2015 Mercedes CLA-Class? Personally I think that it has the price tag of a Honda and the maintenance costs of a Mercedes. But what do you think?
- What do you guys consider a slow 0 to 60 time? My 15 year old Honda does it in anywhere from the high 7 to low 8 and I finds that to be VERY slow what do you guys find to be a slow time?
