Are AIP Elctronics products reliable?

I'm buying a Honda passport 1996. It needs a battery and crankshaft sensor. I found a crankshaft sensor carried by AIP Electronics for $30 roughly. Autozone and advanced auto parts carry one that costs $175. I'm just wondering if I would be better off to buy the higher priced one, or buy the one that is less expensive and could possibly be just as good as the one costing $175?

You think that you have found one for $30. Look what I've found: From $18 and up.:

Of course as a repair shop owner, I normally avoid part that aren't OEM when it come to electronic/ electrical parts; specially the After market (AM) cheaper ones. They tend to make with different material, will not last as long and the main reason is those AM electronic parts tend to throw off the "Preset parameters" of the PCM/ECM (Power train Control Module/ Engine Control Module)

But in your case and if it's my own van (19 yrs old), I do not mind to put one on. Heck, for $18: I do not loose that much, as long as it fix the van; specially with a part warranty include:

  • Why are Japanese products so pricey? When I went to Japan, everything they have on sale are so expensive (more expensive than the one in the USA). The only exception is their car. Honda, Toyota, Nissan.
  • Is the 1979 honda cb750f super sport reliable? A guy in town is selling one with 11,000 miles on it and says it runs great. Are there any known problems with them? I don't want to buy a bike that will end up needing lots of work to fix when it's only worth like $1000 anyways.
  • Most reliable American car makes and models? Looking to buy brand new. For daily driving. Preferably 4 door mid-size or compact. Use to drive Nissan and Honda but considering American if good idea.
  • Honda passport. Reliable? I want to buy one for going to work/school and occasional camping/offroading it has 150k miles and from 1999. My other choices are infiniti qx4 or chevy blazer. I haven't seen passports much so id like to know more
