Blue Devil head gasket sealer bad results?
I'm at my wits ends here. My 2003 honda civic was overheating, after an hour or so. I had ASE master techs inspect it and they all determined it to be a head gasket issue. They quoted me at 1200+ for the job. I foolish chose to try blue devil and now my car is even worse. After I followed the directions I see white chunks in my radiator. And when I go to drive it it overheats within a few minutes. I can't believe I did this… Please help is there any way I can fix this or at least bring it back to the way it was before blue devil? Like flushing the system. I'm guessing that the blue devil has gummed up the works and now the coolant can probably circulate so it just overheats and steams off.
Please any and all advice are appreciated.
If the car is overheating Blue Devil does not have a chance to help. Once symptoms appear the gap is too large to patch, and patches are temporary anyway. Replacing the head gasket and cleaning the cooling system are the only way to fix it (short of replacing the engine).
Only one way to fix a bad head gasket… And it ain't with some miracle stuff
Did you take out your thermostat first?
There are no quick fixes for head gasket trouble. You can go to any regular garage and have it done for much less.
- Would it be, a bad idea for me to try and fix a blown head gasket? Its for a honda. Stock d16 aftermarket rims and is 1500 with a blown head gasket. My dad is the best honda mechanic in my town. He would be guiding me through it. Also the car had 137k miles and good paint. How much would it be worth if it was fixed?
- What results will I notice once i replace the o2 sensor in my car? My car is a 2003 Honda Element Ed awd auto. I've had a check engine light on my dash for a while and I brought it to a mechanic for a diagonistic scan and it comes out to be a bad o2 sensor. My inspection is due in a few months and I'll have to get it replaced But my question is what symptoms will having a bad o2 sensor do to my car? Will it affect off the line acceleration, will it affect acceleration at any speed? Will it affect my cars gas mileage and top speed?
- Just fixed a blown head gasket? It's a 1998 honda civic ex 1.6L vtec just basically got everything back together. Nervous to start it back up. Basically my question is how can I get the air bubbles out of my radiator if there's any. Just want to make sure the antifreeze is flowing correctly
- Head gasket replaced, oil goes low? I have a 2002 Honda Civic. Less than a year ago I got the head gasket replaced/repaired. Ever since then, when I fill my oil up and drive for a few weeks, the oil is low to almost empty with no signs of oil leaking anywhere. I got my oil changed on the 2nd of June and today, the 28th, its practically empty again. What could cause this? I have also bought a bottle of Lucas Engine Oil Stop Leak
