Can i install a vetec engine in 2007 chevy hhr?

My friend had an honda civic si got hit on the side by a truck the car is wrecked and he is willing to sale me his engine for dirt cheap if i can install it to my hhr

I have a Golden Teal 2007 HHR, and yes! You can put the LNF (2.0 liter TURBOCHARGED Ecotech 4 cyl) into the HHR.
Best way is to purchase an insurance auction CHEVROLET COBALT SS (there's one currently in Gaston, South Carolina).
You would have all you need then… Engine, computer, transmission… As a complete package. The engine could be mated to the HHR engine cradle or you can modify the CHEV cradle to the HHR mounts.

Google HHR owners forum to find build topics. There are quite a few going on.

P.S. Similar builds using the Ecotech are to be found on Pennock's Fiero Forum.

Um No! Its possible but not on your budget.

Your looking at about $10,000 to swap it. You will need a performance shop to re-write the programming in your PCM & TCM

It's not worth bothering with. You need to swap the whole computer system, wiring, transmission, fabricate mounts, find axles that are the right length, amongst a ton of other things that are pointless for me to mention, because the whole thing would be a waste of time.

It will take a lot of time, money, downtime, fabrication, engineering, tons of mechanical skills, money.

Did I say money too? Got any of all the above things mentioned?

Thats in my budget lol i would like to know more can you email me the510krew@gmail.com
