Can I modify a 2012 Honda Civic LX ECON?
I recently bought a 2012 Honda Civic LX ECON as my first car. I'm really into JDM/Stanced Cars, but also in saving gas. I've owned the car for a good 6 months and in really thinking about customizing it to my likes. I'm thinking about dropping it low and adding a body kit to it. I also would love to add an exhaust and intake to it as well, but I'm not sure is the ECON feature would get in the way of my engine mods. Enough explaining the question I want answers to is…
CAN I TUNE MY ENGINE UP OR WILL THE ECON HOLD ME BACK FROM MODS EXCEPT FOR THE EXTERIORS MODS?
My opinion - those types of vehicles are designed to carry one to four people from one place to another; they are NOT made to be a "race car" like some of the people try to do to their vehicles + modifications can cause the ECU to not function correctly & in States where there are emissions laws/testing, any changes will cause the vehicle to fail the tests
Customization is definitely possible. The expense of the venture will depend on the mod. Cosmetic stuff like body kits shouldn't be an issue for the econ feature. As for intake and exhaust, it depends on what you're wanting to do. Putting a high-flow or cold air filter/intake on and an aftermarket muffler or cat-back shouldn't affect anything. It doesn't sound to me like you're trying to build an actual street racer just customization. You should be fine with what you described.
- Is it possible to modify my Honda CRV? If so much will it cost to modify? Added (1). I'm planning to ship my CRV to UK from US, and from UK, by road to India. I want to make mainly three modifications. Mine is a 2005 model second generation CRV. 1. Main modification - Left hand drive to right hand drive. 2. Put big tires as in this picture. 3. Change automatic transmission to manual. -How much will it cost all together and separately?
- What would be a better car a 2012 Honda Civic or a 2012 KIA Soul? I'm going to buy one of those cars and I want to know the best things about them both. What do you guys recommend.
- What is a fast cheap automatic car to drag race with & modify? I don't got the car yet, It would be my first car but I want to know what I should I get that would be cheap to modify and run fast to drag, I know that Honda Civics that are year 2000 and lower are cheap to modify but most of them are Stick Shift. It wouldn't be drag racing on the track it would be illegal, & Year 2005 & lower.
