Do Honda's have pushrod type valves?
Quick question. I'm concepting a Civic sedan (likely '98) that will have a larger engine in it. I'm thinking about also getting heads with larger valves, but I'm unsure of how a Honda engine works because I'm an American muscle boy.
No pushrods. Hondas are overhead cam engines.
Honda have gone Way past pushrods.
The performance engines will be DOHC with 4 valves per cyl and variable valve timing. Look for a B16 series engine that came in various Si versions of the car.
That gives you a multivalve Vtech engine that happily revs out to 8,000+ rpm, and makes 160+ hp standard. That's from a normally aspirated 1600cc engine. All the fancy tuning work was done in the factory.
NO, this engine is far from being archaic, it has an OVERHEAD CAMSHAFT for STARTERS, and most likely more than TWO valves per cylinder.
- I have a 1994 honda prelude si. It has bent valves i don't know how many due to timing belt breaking? I need step by step instructions on how to get to valves and to know if they are bent or not and how to replace them. Anyone help me with the step by step instructions. Please
- How many valves does a 2001 prelude have? How many valves does a 2001 manual trans honda prelude have? I have a toyota celica 1994 as well and on the engine it says "16 valve EFI" but how many does my prelude have?
- How often should the valves, be adjusted on a 2000 Honda Crv? I have a 2000 Honda Crv and i'm wondering how often the valves should be adjusted? Honda says 105,0000 and others say 30,000. Which is it?
- Honda fans! I need to know the year and model type of this Honda? I know it's a Honda Civic Sedan. What's the year and model title? I'm guessing a 2000 Honda Civic Sedan?
