Added (1). Honda dealership says I have a leaking axel cap and it will cost 400 to replace.

I'm trying to figure out what the hell that means. Is anyone familiar with that term?

Take it to an independent Honda mechanic for a second opinion and quote. It will be around half what the dealer charges most of the time.

No reason to have the dealership make the repair. Most any local independent automotive center can perform the repair for a fraction of the cost the dealer will charge.

  • Honda Jazz won't take water in the water fill cap? I recently purchased a Honda jazz 2005 mode from a garage, top condition. I'm going on a long journey tomorrow and routinely like I would with any car I checked the water and oil levels. (cold engine). Water level was halfway between min and max so I attempted to top it up with coolant mix, however, as in poured the h20/coolant mixture into the water tank it just came straight back up as though the tank was full, although I can see it's only half full. Any ideas?
  • Will any honda civic cap fit my 1996 model? I stupidly left my petrol cap on top of my car and then it fell off and got run over on the way home. I'm looking for a new one but the market is baffling me. Is there a one size fits all for civics? Or do I need a specific one for my car?

  • Why is coolant leaking from the ends of my top radiator hose on my 1999 honda civic? There isn't water leaking from anywhere else and it only seems to leak when the car has since cooled. It's never enough coolant for me to have to keep filling it up. I have changed the hose and it still seems to be leaking from the end seams.
