How can Americans Afford Such Nice First Cars?
I've seen so many Americans that have been able to afford cars like Honda Civic Si EM1's, Toyota MR2's, Subaru Imprezas, BMW's etc for their first car. These cars being cars that I could never even dream of affording to insure as a first car. I've got a Renault Clio 1.2 and I can barely afford the insurance on that. How do they afford it? Is insurance extremely cheap in the US?
We borrow a trillion dollars a year from the Chinese. Does that explain it?
Most Americans can't afford new cars as their first car especially BMW's. They drive old cars until they can afford something newer.
Insurance is extremely expensive if you're under 25 years of age in the US.
America is not a 3rd world country. Plus, a lot of people are up to their eyeballs in debt.
I'm not sure either. Insurance for a new driver is frogging EXPENSIVE.
My first car was a 1965 Ford Cortina GT like this one. I traded a guy two pigs for it (Really). The condenser lead had shorted out against the distributor housing (I didn't tell the guy that, however). I towed it home, fixed the condenser and drove it for years.

- Looking for a nice first bike? I'm gonna buy a motorcycle in January 2016. I want to get a cruiser but I don't know where to start. I don't want to pay too much and my friends are telling me to get 1100 cc because that's the only way to keep up on the freeway. I really like the Honda Shadow line but all I see is 750cc does anyone know ones that look simular to like a Honda Shadow Aero that's 1100cc?
- How to deal with Americans who don't like immigrants? My mom is Japanese and my Dad is English but I was born and grew up in San Diego. My neighbor here is telling me to my face but in a friendly way that he hates immigrants and should not be letting immigrants into America. He is American and so are his ancestors It was kinda hurtful. But it was weird. He was driving a Honda? Isn't that foreign? He was listening to the Beatles. Aren't they foreign?
- Why does the Honda Civic Si have such a high resale value? What is so good about those cars? I mean, I have seen very very few of them when I drive around. I guess they aren't as popular, but yet they are expensive for later models? I really don't know…
- Is there such thing as aftermarket motors for classic 92-92 civic? What I mean is are there people still creating new motors that are not directly from honda for the classic civics?
