Added (1). when doing an oil change that is
4 liters
Most vehicles take at least 4 quarts V8s are usually 5 quarts, I usually get a 5 quart jug and put 4 quarts in and start it for a moment then check the oil level after it settles a little and if it is still low then I add the other quart. Your owners manual should tell you though
If you are changing the oil and filter buy 5 quarts and put 4 quarts in, run the motor until the red oil pressure warning light goes out and recheck the level. Add oil until it's where it should be on the dipstick. Check your oil level every 1,000 miles between oil changes and top up the oil to keep it in range on the dipstick.
Capacity is 3.2 quarts with oil/filter change. Do not overfill.
- Tranny Flush, 3 or 9 quarts? I called Honda today and told them my tranny fluid was brown. They recommended that I do a 3 quart drain and fill to see how my car reacts to the new fluid. My mechanic who works for Honda recommends that I do a 9 quart drain and fill because Honda Transmissions won't take it as bad as other cars will. I don't know what I should do because I feel like everyone just wants to make a quick buck off of me.
- 2004 Honda Pilot! I did an oil change today check the manual for the engine oil capacity, it is 4.8 liters and put 4.4 liters and add .5 ltr? Total engine oil put is 4.9 liters and I'm surprised the dipstick is above the second hole by 10mm. Is it overfill or do i need to remove some?
