How to gain more horsepower?

I have a 2014 honda civic lx coupe automatic. I know i should have gotten manual but i didn't. Right now it has 143hp and i want it to get more so it can be faster when i race. Right now the 0-60 is about 6.7 seconds and the quarter mile is like 13.5 seconds. Any help is appreciated.

Your times seem a bit exaggerated to me. Edmunds rates 0-60 in about 9 seconds. If you are doing less than 7, you already did something to it.

Step one: buy some horses
Step two: hitch your car to the horses like Santa's sley
Step three: You now have more horsepower

You can't

I don't know

Not much you can do unless you drop a new engine it, maybe tear down the engine and try some performance parts, some gasket companies advertise increases in horse power too, dunno if they live up to their promises or not, but if you willing to go through the hassle might as well give it a shot

Get rid of that ricer and get some american muscle

Personally I would rebuilt the engine with upgraded forged pistons and new gaskets and bearings ect and install a turbocharger and intercooler kit maybe run 4-6 or at Max 8 psi then get a full tune up.

You will have to do a lot of research though, iv looked into it for my civic a few times but I can never bring myself to spend the capital to increase the output. It sounds simple to add a turbo but its not quite what it seems.
