How to get rid of cigarette smell in car?
I just bought a used car. Its a '12 Honda Civic and call me basic but I absolutely love it! Any way I think the previous owner smoked in it and it kinda has that smoky thrift store smell in it. It kinda makes me sick. I used some febreeze and some black ice car trees but it still smells. The car in any other way is perfect so I expect to keep it for a long time. Over time will the smell go away as I don't smoke? And anything else I could try?
Get it professionally cleaned.
I restore old cars, I use a mixture of vodka and water It will work on carpet, headliner, and seats.
Light a cigar
May have to have it detailed professionally.
I think they have these things you can buy online called like Scent Bombs for your car. They like go off in your car and lift odors. Look into it.
I'd sprinkle baking soda on the carpet. I'd also put it out in the bright sunlight with all of the windows open for a day. Then I'd vacuum the carpet. If that doesn't work, have it professionally detailed.
OK… Change your used car buy a new one to get rid of cigarette smell.
You could either have it cleaned professionally, or take a coffee filter, fill it with a couple scoops of coffee and leave it in the car overnight. Try this first before spending money on having it cleaned.
I use Odoban to remove all sorts of smells. It will leave an Eucalyptus odor and then that quickly dissipates while it kills all those germs. I would shampoo or wipe my seats down with it and spritz it on everything and let it sit. I would them wipe it all down and use whatever car products you use on the interior and then let it dry with the doors open. I use it on everything including bedding, bed, sofa, carpeting, floors(not hardwood cause I don't know), bathroom, kitchen, walls, flooring… You name it. I have rental apartments and sometimes when a person moves out they leave a very strong smell in there. The first thing I do is quickly shampoo the carpets with Odoban and let it all dry. Then when a prospective tenant walks in, the place only smells clean.

- Why does my fuse keep blowing in my cigarette lighter when it exceeds the factory specs? I bought a Satechi sound-fly AUX FM modulator, which plugs into my cigarette lighter. It includes a 500mA fuse and a replacement. Both of these blew out. I tried a 2 Amp and a 5 Amp. They blew out as well. I drive a 2003 Honda CR-V, and the lighter is 12V.
