Rebuild it, it is probably tired. If you want more power, sell it and buy something with a V8. There's no replacement for displacement.
You can upgrade parts as you replace them during maintenance. You can do things like rear disc brake conversion, replace old rubber bushings with polyurethane bushings, lower tie bar, light weight rims, throttle body spacers, intake, higher flowing exhaust headers, high flow cat converter, exhaust, springs and struts or coilovers, strut tower bars, sway bars, short throw shifter, steering wheel, seats and more.

Honda D engines are designed for economy, not performance. Bolt ons, except for a turbo kit are useless. You are better off just swapping in a Honda B engine.
