I'm 16, looking for what car I should get?
I'm 16, and i'm saving up for a car, by the time i'm 18 i'm hoping to have enough for a car. Right now I'm really leaning towards a Honda Civic. I was wondering what year would I have to get for it to be under 6000 dollars, or if there are other cars I should look at.
For 6k You can get many cars… But it all depends what You are looking for. Do you want a sports car? Or a Gas saver?
You can find 2008 and below Civics. That are great on gas, and are very reliable
You can also find 2007 and below Subaru Impreza that are much more practical and safe to drive due to fantastic AWD
For around 6k you can also Find cars like Infiniti G35 or Acura TL which are pretty luxurious, but will have more mileage then the other two
Cars like Mitsubishi Eclipse, Nissan 240 sx, 2005 and below 3 and 5 series BMW's, or Honda Prelude can also be found for Under 6k
Let me know what You are looking for in a car… Sportiness or Practicality? And I can give you a more proper list… There are just too many cars out there for under 6k
I always recommend a Ford Focus, 2005+, as a first car. Cheap to buy, cheap to own, cheap to insure and cheap to feed.
I used to drive a 2004 Honda Civic. It was a blast to drive. Nimble, zippy handling, excellent steering feel, great cornering abilities. Was not powerful in any sense of the word but it was a blast revving the hell out of that engine. I always value a car that gives you confidence to pull quick/evasive maneuvers without having the least bit of worry about losing control or crashing into something, and the Civic certainly did that for me. The overall feeling of the driving experience was just so light and raw… Unlike my new car. Whenever you turn the steering wheel, you FEEL the wheels turning. Whenever you step on the accelerator, you FEEL the throttle cable opening the butterfly valve. Whenever you step on the brakes, you FEEL the rotors making contact with the brake pads. You just feel everything. Also great on gas and very cheap and easy to maintain. You open the hood and you can literally see everything. I would highly recommend a Civic.
For 6k you can actually get a pretty nice 2000-2007 Civic model in a decent condition. Buying Japanese is often a smart move, so considering the small Toyota Yaris definitely makes sense.
