Just bought my first car?

Hi, I just bought my first car and I would like to ask some advice of how to keep my car in good conditions, what important maintenance should I keep track of, how often, I'm a very cautious driver (that was when I used to share a car with my brother), now that I'm on my own I would like to keep it in good conditions so that one day I could trade it in, my car is a 2007 Honda Civic Ex with 115k miles, I usually like to keep my car in good exterior shape and clean.

Good for you

If you look in the owners manual you will find a list of required maintenance

Follow your manual instructions, don't skip them

Just washing and keep it shiny ins just minor. The interior counts too. A regular check up by a qualified mechanic. JOIN something like AAA and they can help you find good quality ones in your area.

Things like a regular Oil change, checking filters and changing when necessary. Checking fluid levels, greasing those spots that need it. (Often done during an oil change)
My car is twice as old as yours and also gone twice as far. Look after it and it can be in good shape for many more years.

Check your owners Manual for suggested regular maintenance. If you do not have one look online for one.

The most vital things would be to wash it fairly often and change the oil every 3k-5k miles.

Since you just bought it, I would go ahead and get the oil changed and radiator flushed. I would also replace the air intake filter and spark plugs and have the brakes inspected.

Afterward I recommend to flush the radiator every other year. You won't have to replace the spark plugs for another 100k miles if you replace them with iridium spark plugs.

Have the brakes inspected every year and have the tires rotated every 6 months.

Also check the tire pressure and fluid levels weekly and fill or top up as needed.
