Radiator fan not working on Honda civic 96 ex?
I checked the fan itself by hooking it up to the battery and it works, then i checked the relay by putting a paperclip in the fan switch and ut works so i thought it had to be the cooling fan switch so i bought that and put it in. But the fan would still not turn on. I then changed the thermostat with new gasket but still doesn't work any advice? I have been using the paperclip method to keep the fan running enough to get me to class but i don't want to rely on it to much especially if it happens to fall off during driving. And yes i know the fan is supposed to come in automatically is the engine gets hot enough but when it still doesn't come on when there's smoke coming from the radiator then i'm sure i have a problem. Also i bleed the system to remove the bubbles and yes it still does not work. Could a blown headgasket be the problem?
Seems like the Civic has wiring problem, time for a professional. You've mentioned the thermostat, the head gasket etc. So I guess the car is also has an overheat problem? Get the vehicle to your nearest repair facility before it's too late.
Check the power line to the fan, and the power line to the thing that powers the fan, etc. You will need a volt meter for this. Only check when the engine is hot, because that is the only time when you shouldl see the problem.
You either have a bad relay or a bad ECT sending unit.
- Why could my 2000 Honda Civic show it's going to overheat I have coolant a new radiator a new radiator cap a new temp gauge switch and? A new thermostat head gasket is fine could it just need to flushed and a new water pump and timing belt
- Cooling fan not working, 2004 Honda civic? I've unplugged the temp sensor and put a wire in the plug to test the fan and it comes on when I do that, so the relay has to be working and the fan isn't broken either. I switched the Temperature sensor hoping the old one was just broken, but my car's still over heating and the fan won't come on. It was working perfectly fine until just last week. Anyone know what the problem could be?
- 2004 honda civic ex neither radiator fan is turning on? Yesterday I was driving home and noticed that my car was starting to overheat when I was idling at a red light. The heat started to blow out cold air as the car temp. Went up. When I started to drive again the heat worked. This morning I checked under the hood and realized the first cooling fan did not work and the ac/heat fan did not turn on either. I check the fuzes and antifreeze so was wondering what else can cause the fans to stop working
- My cars radiator fan is on? I was washing my cars engine bay and out of nowhere the fan came in and the keys weren't in the ignition, I covered up everything I was supposed to and the fan is still on after 10 minutes? I turned on the car and it started up fine, should I be worried? It's a 88 Honda Accord by the way
