What could be causing my hesitation? 2012 Honda Civic?
I've been having acceleration issues in my Civic. When the blower motor is on (doesn't matter if A/C is on, it could just be the vent) my car hesitates and accelerates at a 'weak' pace. It's noticeably not as powerful. Along with this I've noticed sometimes my car shifts kind of harshly. It shifts between all gears but randomly I will feel a 'jerk' when letting off the gas and other times I feel my car struggling to shift a bit but if I press a bit harder on the gas, it finally shifts.
Both hesitation + shifting issues started together. I have no check engine light (never have), brand new OEM Denso spark plugs and ignition coils.
I have a collapsing front-right engine mount that I'm getting fixed that was causing a rough idle, but could this cause hesitation/shifting issues? Just like the acceleration issues, I've noticed the rough idle gets a lot worse when I turn on the blower motor and gets smoother when I turn it off.
Alternator was tested OK, but could this be a voltage regulator? Or a shift control solenoid?
A broken mount, was the car driven hard, or just normal driving? Sounds like a loose engine may have damaged something. You have to try and see if the ecm is throwing out any codes.
I don't know about a blower motor effecting engine power or acceleration. That's kind of strange. Is the car still on any kind of warranty?
- What would be a better car a 2012 Honda Civic or a 2012 KIA Soul? I'm going to buy one of those cars and I want to know the best things about them both. What do you guys recommend.
- What else could could be wrong? My stereo in my 2002 Honda civic la sedan wasn't working right so I had a friend check it out. Be got it so my stereo would work but now the a.c stopped working. When you try to use it the fans turn on for a second then automatically switch off. The mechanic shop said I need to change the control panel but I don't want to get a replacement then this isn't the issue. Is this all I can do to really know. What else could it be?
- I felt dizzy and difficulty concentrating after driving my new car for two hours. Could excessive electrical wires be causing this? I felt these symptoms about three times directly after driving my 2000 Honda Civic. The car has about 10 or so electrical wires running above the driver's window and along the headliner for the two dome lights, sun roof, and rear speakers. These wires are very close to my head. I never felt this in my old car which only had one wire running above the driver's window. Does this sound unusual? Thank you very much!
- Hesitation and pulsing rough idle on cold start? 2012 Honda Civic, 165k miles. Been having a lot of hesitation off the line (picking up speed from a stop). When slowing down from 5mph to 0mph, and while stopped, my idle is rough and "earthquakey" in bursts. On cold starts my car idles rough and feels like a pulsating feeling like the car's going to die. RPMs on cold start are 1500 and take 10minutes to drop to 800. No codes, shifting is smooth. Any ideas?
