What do i need to convert to vtec?

I have a 1997 honda civic coupe with the stock d16y7 motor. I wanna keep the block stock but want to switch the head to vtec. I have the vtec head with intake and all which is the d16y8 head vtec… Do i need anytging special? If there's a video of someone doing the swap please leave a link. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Option A:
D16y8 head and intake manifold
D16y8 head gasket set (w/ intake & exhaust gasket)
P2P ECU or run a P28 ECU (socketed/chipped), OBD2 to OBD1 jumper harness and OBD1 O2 sensors
Wire harness to connect vtec solenoid

Option B:
D16Z6 head and intake manifold
D16Z6 head gasket set (w/ intake & exhaust gasket)
P28 ECU
OBD2 to OBD1 jumper harness
Wire harness to connect vtec solenoid
OBD1 O2 sensors

If you run an OBD1 head on an OBD2 block, you will need OBD1 O2 sensors, OBD2 to OBD1 jumper harness and keep in mind the OBD1 will not have a knock sensor or cam angle sensor.

It's less work to stick with a Y8 head and P2P ECU, but the P28 has more tuning options and the Z6 head is much nicer (according to my opinion and that of many Honda enthusiasts), as it does not attempt "swirl port" like the Y7/Y8

This is referred to as a "Mini-Me" swap and is very easy to do.
Hope this helps.
