What's a cheap, reliable first car?
I have roughly $3,400 to spend. I'm trying to find a Honda Civic but all of the ones in my price range have like 200,000 miles on them. Is mileage really a big deal?
It all depends on if parts have been updated. A 200.000 mile car that has
all new wheel bearings, shocks, struts, timing chain, water pump, exhaust, is
better to me than an all origional civic with 100,0000.
Keep looking. For 3500 you can find one at about 150,000.
You should be able to find an automobile in decent shape for that kind of money. However, you certainly should expect it to have 150k more more miles. As long as the seller can should you proof of all complete service and maintenance records you will have a potential winner. The Civic is a solid vehicle and can easily last 300k miles if properly maintained.
Something that was owned by the elderly like cutlass cieras, mercury sables, lincoln continental etc. Most have low miles
