Which car stereo system should I invest in?

So first off please forgive me because I'm HIGHLY inexperienced with car audio systems. So I have a Honda civic 2005 Ex, and I want to buy a pair of subwoofers with an amp for it. Now I've been looking at two Kicker 12" subwoofers with an 1000 watt amp. What troubles me is pioneer subwoofers are so much cheap than Kicker's. So I have a fee questions 1.) Is the Kicker 12's enclosed with 1000 watt amp good, 2.) What does 2 channel or 1 channel amps mean, 3.) Are pioneers more budget friendly but have the same quality as kickers, and 4.) What brand amplifier should I get?

This is what you do. Go to a car stereo guy near where you live and have a serious talk with him on what to get and what you can afford.

I like kicker better, but Richard is correct… It's time to learn… Google your questions, learn about ohms law, and tuning subwoofer boxes… They are a lot to know like amp wire sizes, rms power ratings and peak power ratings, fuse ratings, etc… Do your homework first. Then build your system… It will sound much better and maybe you want blow nothing up.

  • What's the best car stereo/speakers to get for this car? My husband has a 1993 Honda Prelude and I wanted to get him a great car stereo or speakers for Valentine's Day. But I don't even know where to start looking. I know someone who can install, but I just need the speakers.
  • Should I sell my car and invest the money? I have 2 cars. A 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse and an 2006 Honda S2000. I'm thinking of selling the Honda and getting 12-15k for it. Then investing that money. I have a friend who builds and flips houses. He said if I invest he'll give me a good return on it when they sell. I forgot the percentage he said, but it was higher than doing a cd or anything like that. I like my car, but I only drive that one once a week or so. Should I try and sell it and use it to make more money?
  • Want to install better car stereo but am confused how to make sure what I buy will fit into my car? Confused? I want to install a new stereo system in my car and see those cars out there with the big screens on their stereos and I want something like that, but I have a 1993 honda civic and am honestly confused on how I would buy something like that and it would fit into the dash of my car. Do I have to buy something the exact same size? Do they come with speakers too? Can anyone give me any ideas on where to start. I'm really confused.
