Which year Honda s are compatible to swap my 1996 civic engine to without changing the wire harness? - 1
Added (1). I have a 1996 Honda civic hatchback, the frame is junk when I bought it and now I need to get rid of it, I'm wondering what other year Hondas I'm able to just swap the motor without modifications like changing the wire harness
The 6th gen Civic came with 7 different engine options.
So first thing is to work out what engine you actually have.
Most likely that it's a D16Y7, which was used in the 96-2000 models. But don't assume your engine will automatically fit, as the other car may have a different model engine.
However, you do have a wiring harness, ECU etc in your old car, so you could make it work (with a bit of extra parts swapping)
Well there's like half a dozen different engine types for that gen civic, so first step would be to find out what engine you have
- Can I unseize an honda 4 cylinder engine without removing engine What I want to do is remove oil pan.disconnecte pistons from crankshaft move them up and down individually. Whichever one is the hardest is going to be the one that needs replaced. Is this possible? Or does all pistons sieze at the same time?
- Tire changing without lever? I have a 2003 honda xr100r. Its in pretty good shape but over the winter the tire became flat. I pumped it multiple times but it didn't work so i removed the tire from the bike to change. However, I do not own tire levers. Is there any way i can remove the tire without the lever? (its the front tire).
- If i make a wire harness will it work with out pulse generator and icu on 85 1100 honda shadow? If i just make direct line from stator to rectifier to starter selonoid and coils will it be fine with out the pulse generator and the 2 icm/icu? I want to eliminate a bunchof stuff on it and i was wondering if that could go as well. It was a mess when i bought it i will figure it out if it must stay but i just need to know if it can go because it will be less of a headache if i can keep it going with out it.
- Can a 16.L engine fit into a 1998 Honda Civic LX? (before doing engine swap)? I had an blown motor on my 1998 Honda Civic LX, I have new spark plugs, distributor cap and some other items, however, since the old spark plugs happened to be melted as well, I have no option other to do a engine swap. I've been doing some research, and it seems like I only have the 1.6L engine as a option. By the way, the blown motor is a D16Y8, and is automatic.
